Delicious Philly cheese. We got the provolone with peppers and onions. This place is as good as any other in Philly for sandwiches and deserves a try!

Food and service was great- Mia is a gem. Flyer cheesesteak was great with the cream cheese and just the right amount of heat.

Is it OK if get deeply personal for a second? One strange thing about dating apps in 2025 is how many "moderate" political types there are. And how can one be "apolitical" in these times? But I did get slightly apolitical on the cheesesteak front during my New Year's Eve visit. Going to the midnight fireworks, then taking a bus in the rain and waiting on a long line at Pat King's of Steaks is a memory from my younger days, and by that I mean early 50s. With a rare chance for a fireworks doubleheader, I figured I'd stay nearby. Yeah, I wondered if going to something in this tourist-friendly block was akin to dining at a Times Square Applebee's but figured Campo's would be fine since it was open since 1947. I enjoyed The Works. The peppers and mushrooms allow you to feel healthy for a few seconds. The ribeye was juicy. It didn't have the over-the-top meltiness of my favorite steaks. The workers were friendly. I realize that Pat's doesn't have the Reddit seal of approval, and that even in this neighborhood the gatekeepers prefer Sonny's, but I'm happy that I checked out Campo's rather than traveling great distances in pursuit of indie cred.

As a Philadelphian growing up on Geno's and Pat's moving out of Philly over 20 years ago... I always gotta get a cheesesteak when we visit. This time was able to try Campo's. Love the little cozy atmosphere with little bit of seating inside. And food came out fast and hit the mark as always with a good quality cheesesteak! Good food but guess for me customer service was bit lacking as cashier seems a bit cranky and didn't even wanna crack a smile for nothing but overall, maybe we all have a bad day and nothing against her at all.... Overall food was good as it looked and hit the spot!

Amazing all around. Visiting Philadelphia from Southern California for a few days and stumbled on this place while exploring. Friendly, quick service and amazing tasting food. I ordered the works Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was incredible. Also got a side of the pasta salad which the lady taking my order said her mom makes herself! Also delicious! I sat inside at one of the tables looking outside the front window and got to people watch while enjoying my lunch. Ambiance? Check! Service? Check! Food? Double check!

Ok I love Campo's bc it's the ONLY place I know of that sells IMPOSSIBLE CHEESESTEAKS! I will say I've only gotten it via Ubereats, bc I'm a homebody, but also I'd never want to deal with parking in that area. Their Impossible cheesesteak, unfortunately, bc they changed the menu in the past year or so, they only offer something called "Impossible Works" - so you have to call and say, "I don't want the onions or peppers on it", if you're me. And when you do, you get a woman who sounds irritated, even though you called literally the second you'd placed your order. Sorry, ma'am, but it's not my fault Campo's got rid of the PLAIN Impossible cheesesteak on the app! I don't like onions or peppers, ok? The woman will say "They already started making it.".. Well, I've worked in kitchens and cooked cheesesteaks before..yes, it's annoying, you may have to dump it if you already mixed in onions and peppers, but in our kitchen, we cooked the veg in a separate pile, til the end? In any case, it ain't my fault yall changed the menu to make things more annoying for the picky eater customer, you feel me? The end result is, she will agree to make your Impossible cheesesteak with just mushrooms and cheese, thankfully. And you'll receive it and it'll RULE. The sad thing is, it's prohibitively expensive, if you don't have an Ubereats promo coupon. If you do, though, holy crap. You'll be reminded of how good cheesesteaks are, and without any animals having to die. (Also, if you're a carnivore, my boyfriend says their regular cheesesteaks are very, very good.)

Such yummy cheesesteaks and one of the first cheesesteaks shops to be open early in the morning. Can't beat it, highly recommend! And so many cheesesteak options, all delicious! Picture doesn't do it justice, so good!

Love the hoagie dip and the cheesesteaks. Simplicity here is the key. They also have impossible meat options which is great for my husband! In Philly the second time and we came back because we've actually enjoyed the food. It's our go to spot! Service is good. Ambiance is fine. It's a small shop and that's totally fine!

So this place is recommended by the locals. They tell us to stay away from the famous two cheesesteak places (one in the Rocky movie). This is a local family owned and operated small business that has been around in "Old Town" Philadelphia. The service is personal and the cashier asked if we wanted to add a side of macaroni salad or coleslaw made fresh by "my mom". Sold us as we live supporting family owned and operated small businesses. Cashier asked," Will you be paying with cash or card? Cash is cheaper." So bring your cash and save a little money! There was a decent amount of meat in our sandwich and the meat was moist so presumably freshly cooked! Surprisingly, the cheese whiz was delicious on the cheesesteak!
